14 : Utah Jazz select Shabazz Muhammad, SF, UCLA

This is a pick where the Jazz will take the best player available, and Muhammad is just that, the best player available.  However, there are concerns about him.

Coming out of his senior season of high school, Muhammad was ranked as the number 1 high school  player in the nation.  At UCLA, he wasn’t as productive as people thought he would be, but he also didn’t seem happy at UCLA.  There was the incident about his actual age.  He isn’t really 19, he’s 20.  Also, last season at UCLA, he had 27 assists FOR THE WHOLE SEASON.

Aside from that, he can flat out score the basketball.  Something the Jazz could use.  I think if it was me, I would look at someone else here, possibly Gorgui Dieng out of Louisville.  However, the Jazz will select the best player available, regardless of position.  That player will be Shabazz Muhammad.
