4. Deron Williams
Arguably the best point guard in the league when he was with the Jazz, D-Will transformed the Jazz into contenders in the West again. The Jazz had only gone two seasons without Stockton but it was apparent the Jazz needed a someone to run the offense so the Jazz traded up with Portland to get the number three pick in the 2005 draft. D-Will had his differences right from the start with Sloan as he came off the bench behind Milt Palacio (you read that right).
I his second season with the Jazz he led them to a 12-1 start, the best in franchise history, and a 51-31 record for the season. He, along with Boozer and Okur, led the Jazz to the Western Conference Finals where they lost 4-1 to the Spurs. He ultimately might be remembered for possibly forcing Jerry into retirement and sending the Jazz into a tailspin for the rest of the season. His time with the Jazz though he was the difference a franchise needs.
