Utah Jazz: Top Five Jazz Players, No. 4 Mehmet Okur

No. 4

Mehmet Okur – 9.48

Mehmet Okur is our fourth-best Jazz player with a career 9.48 rating.

“Memo wants money–he got it!”

By far my favorite Jazz player of all time, Mehmet Okur cracks the top-five with his impressive career statistics. Which are: 13.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 0.5 steals per game.

My one, dying hope for the 2011-12 season (besides hoping that there is a season) is that Memo will recover from his achilles’ tendon injury and return to form.

There actually are signs that Okur has made a complete recovery. On October 28, he scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while playing for his Turkish team, Telekom, in a battle against Deron Williams and the undefeated Besiktas.

Okur looked to be in tip-top shape with little passiveness concerning his leg.

The Jazz sorely missed Memo’s presence on the floor this year; his ability to grab rebounds and stretch the floor on the offense. He is an unmatched asset for the Utah Jazz when he is healthy.

I can’t wait for Mehmet Okur to rejoin the Utah Jazz! Let’s get this lockout over with!
