NBA Lockout Reaches Climax, Outcome to be Announced

The NBA owners and players met today in New York City in a last-effort attempt to salvage the regular season and maintain the scheduled starting date of November 1st. If, in fact, the sides do not reach an agreement today, the first two weeks of the regular season will be canceled.

The outcome of this meeting has yet to be announced, but sources stated late last night that the owners and players are only three percentage points away from reaching a deal. This three percent accounts for more than $120 million, although a cancellation of the first two weeks of the season would equal more than $150 million lost by players.
